      • Eyedropper for sampling color for background color

        Also I have set a background image and want to match color of the background with image (have some transparent region) but their isn't eyedropper option to take color sample from image colors. IMHO that would be helpful

        • Would this project be suitable to have Adobe CC also do photogrammetry ?

          photogrammetry software like" Photomodeler", "Agisoft PhotoScan" and "Acute3D" were still not making the 3Dmodel from multicamera positions as accurate and with high resolution as I needed it to be.
          Perhaps Adobe can make a difference ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_photogrammetry_software
          I am using 9 Nikon D800 camera's to do lenticular, timefreeze and 3D modeling . No accurate and easy software ( affordable and powerfull ) software yet tried that meets demands.
          Currently using twitter Pro in After Affects for inter-camera calculations. A 3D model instead of rotoscoping front from background would be helpful too to get AE and Twixtor Pro working better.

              • Pattern material is not seamless

                I am not familiar with 3D enough to know if this is possible or not, but when applying material that has a pattern to, for instance, a sphere, there is an obvious seam in the pattern on the circumference of the sphere, giving the effect of a separate material on each half of the sphere. A way to eliminate that seam would be nice.

                  This is an interesting topic but it’s not something I have an easy answer for. The seams are caused by… well seams. ;) In order to put an image onto a 3D model the model is essentially cut up and flatted into 2D image space. The seams you’re seeing are the places that the 3D model have been sliced in order to lay it out flat.

                  There are some other ways to cut the model to reduce the amount of visible seams or ‘fake’ the seamless-ness across the seam. I don’t really have an answer on what we’re doing here yet, but it’s a great topic and I’d love some more feedback on this from what you might expect.

                  - Is it most important to you that there be no seams or that the image be very…

                • Direct selection tool

                  Please use two selection tools like you do in illustrator and in design the "selection tool" and the "direct selection tool". Consistency across UIs is important, but these objects have to be vector based. [The magic wand from Photoshop which is for raster-based images.]

                  • Apply Textures with One Click

                    Apply textures to the selected object by single clicking on them in the menu. From InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop all of them apply colors/swatches with a single click in the menu.

                    Basically, keep your commands consistent across programs.

                      • PBR based workflow / Substance Designer integration

                        It would be great to see your texture inputs for materials follow a more traditional physically based rendering workflow. This is useful when creating content across different apps to keep a uniform look.
                        I would love to see these attributes for each material along with what currently exists like opacity, translucence, IOR, etc..

                        albedo/diffuse (flat color)
                        metallic (how reflective) or specular
                        roughness (how blurry for reflections) or glossiness
                        normal/bump (micro surface lighting info)
                        height/displacement (displaced geometry based luminance info)
                        ambient occlusion
                        curvature
                        fresnel (reflectance based on normal)

                        If this app could communicate with something like substance designer of substance painter,…

                        • Be able to access Bridge for images through Felix.

                          Time factor as well as direct accessibility to images would be key for Felix if Bridge images could be imported without going through Libraries. If one works with multi-adobe-apps the library is good for some aspects as reworked files but images that are direct should not have to go through another step in order to access.

                            Why not add plane widget in Felix?

                            I think that would be great improvement and speed up our work. Also many Adobe Illustrator users know how to use it and they can easily manipulate object in 3D space

                            • Cloth Assembly and Simulation

                              I've recently worked in two Design Projects that involved cloth of some sorts. One of them, that was a complete challenge and, though it won 1rst Prize in a National Design Contest, the cloth component still looks horrible on the renders.

                              Trying to model the cloth part and get it together with the SolidWorks wooden parts was the biggest challenge here. I had to do it manually, polygon by polygon, within the time limit, and figure out a way to get everything together.

                              Would there be any possibility of modelling cloth physics on Felix and allow for an easier manipulation…

                                Very interesting topic. I think cloth simulation could be really fun to play with and definitely makes a lot of sense to have in some aspect. Thanks for attaching your example image, that’s very helpful.

                                I’d love to hear what other people think of this too.

                              • Full Blender Support for Scenes and more

                                Please integrate with blender as its a great tool for 3D modeling used alot by everyone that will benefit from Felix.. In my opinion it its critical this is done as right now nothing from blender imported to Felix , works. or crashes the whole thing.

                                  • Auto-adjust Focal Lenght and F-Stop to background image

                                    Allow the 3D camera to automatically adjust to the Background Focal Length and F-Stop according to EXIF data.

                                    Together with the Feature Request for adding Depth of Field by simulating F-Stop Aperture, it would be nice to match the virtual camera settings to the background photo to more easily adjust and place the 3D object on the photographic environment.

                                    Say I have a car and I want to place it on a road. And I use one of my photos taken with a DSLR. When I load the background image, Felix would ask if I'd like to match lighting and…

                                      In fact, it already does do the Focal Length/FoV match. :) Depth of Field/FoV isn’t implemented yet, but once it is this is planned. The goal is to match as much as possible when you’re using a background to place a 3D model into.

                                    • 2D Camera Controls with Background Scene

                                      I can understand the camera controls being 3D when there is no 2D scene in the background. However, once I have put in the 2D scene, it is infuriating to have my horizon misaligned when I meant to zoom in to the actual image, and not in 3D.

                                      It would be great if there were an option, once a scene is in place, to have the "camera" stop being a 3D camera, and turn into a photoshop-like viewport, where I can literally zoom in and out of the entire image, without moving the 3D objects relative to the scene.

                                          Hey everyone. I wanted to post here that we’ve started some work on making it easier to place images directly on the model. There are actually a few features going into this work and it’s going to take a little time, so probably not for our next release, but hopefully soon after! :) I’ll keep you updated.

                                        • More camera options

                                          It would be nice to have a set of camera options to take the best out of Felix. I've already left some comments around giving some ideas to what it could be possible to do but I'm going to leave a Feature Request with everything in place and explained.

                                          Camera should have these basic navigation tools controlled by Mouse/Keyboard and Menu:

                                          - Move Up and Down; (Shift/Ctrl+W/S or PageUp/PageDown)
                                          - Move Left and Right; (A/D)
                                          - Move Forward and Backwards; (W/S)

                                          - Yaw; (Mouse Drag)
                                          - Pitch; (Mouse Drag)
                                          - Roll; (Q/E)

                                            Thanks for the great write-up! We’ve considered a ‘game-style’ mode of navigation using WASD/QE keys. It’s an interesting approach that has been fun for me in some game engines and other platforms. We do have all of these controls available, but seems like your request here is really to have a custom keybind and control scheme for the movement.

                                            We do have a Focal Length/FoV control in the Camera settings when you select the scene. Aperature/Depth of Field/F-Stop is coming soon!

                                            Exposure Time/Motion Blur is not on the list right now, but definitely something we’re keeping in mind.
