When you apply a spherical HDRI image to the background, there should be an option to unfreeze the image so when you orbit, the background changes with it.
additionally, if an HDRI is chosen, it would be handy to have sliders in the options bar that allow you to change the image rotation, and scale. See attached concept3 votes
Thanks for the suggestion. We’re adding an option to use the IBL as the background, but sounds like you want to use a seperate spherical background image, correct?
Ideally I would like to be able to work and render at the same time. So consider have a separate tab or window for the render. This way I can render high quality in the background, while working on a new model, scene, etc in the foreground.5 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely something that would help fill up those render times, and something we’re considering!
All objects on a canvas are rendered as one PSD layer only. This is not good, pardon me, but it can be annoying to work with the selection tool for each and every object and detail when wanting to change sth in Photoshop.
(I noticed there was this topic already, yet closed for insuffucient support, I can hardly imagine that there are only two people requesting it.)1 vote
I think that one was closed because there was no description confirming that it was talking about layers in the PSD render. Your thoughts are much clearer! :)
This is something we’ve heard frequently actually and we are investigating.
As far as I see I cannot change the color of background or any given abstract background by drag and drop from CC Libraries. The error message is "... Felix does not recognize this type of file." So I have to type in each color individually - which can get quite tiresome.1 vote
Definitely something we’re planning, just didn’t make the first few rounds. :) I’ll update this when we’ve started work on it.
It would be nice if Undo worked for the Orbit Tool.1 vote
Thanks for the feedback! This is something we’re considering adding to the main “undo” history or into it’s own “camera undo” history. I’d love peoples thoughts on whether they’d want it to be part of the primary Cmd/Ctrl + Z undo/redo or under a different keybind for separate recording?
Sure it is on the radar, but exporting for Apple's ARKit would be a good move.2 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! There’s a lot going on with AR/VR we’re keeping tabs on.
When using multiple monitors, i would like to move my pallets to a second monitor.. it seems they are locked into the single view mode. I would especially like to see the preview window moved off of my art-board. some people utilize more than one monitor and would like to see their designs in full screen.7 votes
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! We (Adobe as a whole) are considering the next generation of User Interfaces, so this is a discussion that is being taken very seriously across the company. I’d love specific examples of the things you like to dock/undock and why.
It would be really nice to be able to use a pinch-zoom feature on my mouse pad, much like I can in Illustrator and like-products.1 vote
Can you improve use of CUDA on 3rd part video card (like Nvidia Titan X or 1080Ti) for use on macpro or Hackintosh
The rendering for example is a little bit slow and has not a big request on the GC.
maybe the ability like on photoshop to run the software with or without an gpu.1 vote

After editing a material or adding textures to create my own it would be great to save the material for reuse in other projects.4 votes

A percentage when rendering your design to better understand the amount of time is left instead of the amount that is has been since you started. Also, estimated amount of time when rendering.1 vote
Scale dimensions need to be linked (the same way as in AI, ID or PSD). So I can scale the object proportionally.1 vote
Definitely! Adding “linked” scaling to the properties is something we’re working on. You can do uniform linked scaling in the canvas using the Scale Tool. Just use the center white pyramid control handle to scale along all 3 axises.
Here’s a 1 minute video covering the use of the move/rotate/scale tools. You can see the uniform scaling around the 40~ second mark.
It would be awesome to have an option to delve deeper into the raster background image—say of an office or room—by being able to place models on the wall with the shadows/lighting interacting as it would hanging/leaning there.2 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! This is actually something we are looking into, though it’s a bit down the line. We have some research going on for it though!
We´re working with After-Effects and therefore have all our products in Cinema 4D format with pre defined UV-Spaces and tons of adaptable textures in PSD. It´s useless to have another product in cloud that doesn´t support the formats the other applications do. We won´t spend double time to adapt models for different programms.1 vote
Thanks for the thoughts here! We haven’t really started work on compatibility with After Effects yet and are using a different material system than Photoshop (A subset of NVidia’s MDL language).
For your work, what specifically would you want to see? Support of .c4d save files imported to Felix? A particular type of 3d file format support (.fbx, .3ds, etc)?
More details are great!
Similar to conventional 3D software, Felix should have the ability to create 3D images from 1/2D wireframes. ie. a 1D line is drawn (a circle), the 1D drawing is filled to create 2nd dimension. The 2D shape is then scaled from surface to create a cylinder (3rd dimension). This offers a much more methodical and flexible approach to creating wireframes/models. Further example: using a series of curved lines to create a tapered bottle wireframe (like a shampoo bottle that is crimped at the top). The user is then able to then create a mesh that follows this curved lines > duplicate > flip horizontal and voila - a crimped tube.

A revert feature would be great in this app - just to provide some recourse when experimenting with lighting and material properties etc.. Learning by trial and error I am quiting quite a lot in order to get to a previous point [ultimate would be a history like Photoshop of course!]5 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely a revert feature is something we’ll add. We’re considering a history panel or time feature.
Allow Felix 3D models to embed into inDesign for .epub output!6 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! I’d love to know some specific workflows you’d like to do here. For example is it for product shots inside a design document or something? Great suggestion.
you need a way to scan the local system gpu | drivers to make sure Felix will work on it... the current wx only assumes people with wx have a gpu thats up to the task and that may not be the case
p.s, as it is now pressing rendor on a system without a good gpu | driver just does nothing at all... imo it should at least spit out an error file5 votes
Thanks for the suggestion! I love the idea of the app being smart enough to tell you what’s wrong before there’s issues. :) We’ll see what we can do!
